Welcome to South Park Inn

South Park Inn’s mission is to improve our community by providing equal access to shelter and solutions for all people to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring.

Strong principles build strong communities

Founded in 1982,  South Park Inn is a homeless shelter and homelessness services organization designed to serve the greater Hartford community. We work closely with our health and human services partners to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Our services are flexible, diverse, and creative. We work with each guest to find a housing solution customized to their unique needs.

Housing is a human right

People experiencing homelessness are clear: housing is the solution to homelessness. We understand that everyone’s experience and background is unique. Some people require additional support, like addiction recovery or mental wellness treatment.  But everyone does better working toward their goals from the privacy and safety of their home.

Guests

Words matter.

At South Park Inn, anyone who stays in the shelter, whether for a week or a year, is referred to as a guest at the Inn. Not client or resident, but guest. The Inn is a shelter, a temporary home, and a place for healing to take place. While the mission is to help homelessness be a brief experience once someone arrives at the Inn, we want all guests to feel welcome here.
