Plimpton House

South Park Inn is proud to offer Plimpton House as a long term, congregate supportive housing facility that provides residents with a communal living environment ideal for facilitating independence while ensuring housing stability. This program is housed in the renovated Linus B. Plimpton mansion, at 847 Asylum Avenue in Hartford, and is featured on the register of Historic Buildings of Connecticut.

Up to 35 men and women regard Plimpton House as their home. Many of these individuals have experienced chronic homelessness, endure disabilities, and have suffered significant challenges in independent living. Plimpton House offers a unique opportunity for them to maintain the freedom and self-sufficiency of their own space, without the stressors associated with household management.

Residents are able to share three meals a day, enjoy comfortably decorated common areas, and have ample room to integrate their own possessions and personalities within the house. A number of residents are employed in the community, while others that are retired or disabled spend their time peacefully enjoying Plimpton House.

Staff members are available 24 hours a day, in case of emergency situations, and to provide supportive services to residents, as well as security and building management. South Park Inn is committed to maintaining this beautiful historical building, and to being exemplary neighbors in the Asylum Hill neighborhood.
