Why is a homeless shelter throwing a dance party?

Because life is a lot right now. For all of us.

As staff at a homelessness service provider organization, we know firsthand how heavy the world can feel, especially when fighting day after day to keep people safe and get them housed while dealing with many levels of uncertainty.

So, we decided to crank up the cheer with live music and dancing at our second annual fundraiser, Dance It Out!

You are invited to dance through the ages as the Bad Habit Band plays live music. Come dancing with us.

Oldies? Yes.

Today’s hot singles? Yes.

Pop? Yes.

Rock? You betcha.

Late-night performance from Hip Hop 4 the Homeless? You know it.

The idea is to head out and get down on the dance floor while supporting a critically needed service - emergency shelter for members in our community.

Think cool wedding reception meets networking meets philanthropy.

There will be table seating, and sponsors can reserve entire tables. However, plan to bring your dancing shoes and be prepared to get on your feet. Bring colleagues, loved ones, anyone who loves to see and be seen.

We aim to have this be a fundraiser that you won’t forget.

Rest assured that even though this is a dance-based fundraiser, you are welcome to come as you are. Dance or don't dance. Nodding along and enjoying the vibe is just fine.

This event is meant to be a gathering that brings us closer together, making it an event everyone looks forward to each year.

Tentative schedule:

6 pm - arrival + mingling + bar + passed apps

6:30 pm - welcoming remarks and band kicks off

7 pm - dinner buffet by Distinctive Ideas + dance floor open

7:30 pm - build your own to-go homelessness care package station

8 pm - director’s speech + more dancing + general foolery

11:00 pm - party animals close it down + Hip Hop 4 the Homeless

Ticket note:

For individual tickets, a sliding-scale ticket option is available. Full price is $75 per individual ticket, but pay what you can. We just want you to make it!

Sponsor-level supporters receive 2 drink tickets per person.
